Unseen
When you wander a street fair or farmer's market you will find everything from fresh local apples and organic cheeses to chainsaw sculpture and homemade potpourri. So it is at Unseen, an online intentional marketplace for a wide gamut of erotica. It has been growing since the spring of 2008 and at time of review, November of 2008, it appears to still be a labor of love. Planned and no doubt eagerly awaited, is the commercial opening of the marketplace. The model is unique enough to merit it's own page on Wikipedia. They refuse advertising and plan on existing on a small portion of the artist's revenues. They have hundreds of individual galleries submitted by painters, photographers, models, digital artists, and others. They are devoted to being as inclusive of all legal sexual modes or minorities as possible, no matter the size or race or gender or whatever. Viewing is free - although part of the upcoming "monetization" is premium galleries for pay. Viewers can request their preferences - gay, bi, or straight, scupture or paintings or photography, mild or explicit. The galleries are divided into two groupings - most viewed and recommended. The recommended have been examined and found to have some unique worth by the webmasters. I'll have to take a fresh look once they shift to their planned commercial model, but I certainly have to recommend what they have so far. Today I'm only putting this in the categories it qualifies for today - that will change when it goes commercial. Look for this one to grow. - Peter
